What it records, and what it never does
Team Tracker counts activity. It does not read it. This is the full list.
Records while the timer runs
- Time on each taskWhen the timer starts and stops, and which project and task the time belongs to.
- Activity countsHow many clicks and key presses happen in each interval, turned into an activity level.
- Idle timeStretches with no input. You are asked whether to keep or discard idle time when you come back.
- Apps and websitesThe app in use and the website address while the timer runs, when your company turns app tracking on.

Never records
- What you type. Key presses are counted, never stored as text

Team Tracker questions
Which operating systems does Team Tracker support?
Team Tracker runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. There is no macOS or Linux version yet. On a Mac or Linux machine, use the BusinessHRM web app in your browser, which has task timers and check-in. On Android, use the BusinessHRM mobile app.
Do I need administrator rights to install it?
No. The installer is per-user and does not trigger a Windows admin (UAC) prompt, so anyone can install it on their own machine.
Does Team Tracker record what I type?
No. It counts how many keys and clicks happen in each interval to work out an activity level. It never stores which keys were pressed, so it cannot see passwords, messages or anything else you type.
Does it take screenshots?
Only if your company switches screenshots on, and at the interval set for your company. Every screenshot taken is listed in the app with its time, so you can always see what was captured.
Does it track me when the timer is off?
No. Nothing is recorded while the timer is stopped, while you are on a break, or after you check out. Tracking starts only when you press start.
What happens if I lose my internet connection?
Tracking carries on. Time, activity and screenshots are queued on your computer and uploaded when the connection comes back, so nothing is lost.
How do updates work?
When a new version is published, Team Tracker offers it in the app and installs it in one click. The download button on this page also always serves the latest build.
Is Team Tracker free?
Yes. The desktop app is free to download and works on every BusinessHRM plan, including the free Starter plan. Plans differ on things like screenshot limits and advanced tracker controls.
