We want everyone to be able to learn about BusinessHRM, compare plans and get started, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. This statement explains what we aim for, what we have in place today, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our target
We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on businesshrm.com. WCAG is the internationally recognised standard for accessible web content, published by the W3C.
We have not yet completed a full independent audit against WCAG 2.2, so we do not claim full conformance. We treat level AA as the bar every new page has to meet, and we fix problems as we find them or as they are reported.
What this statement covers
This statement covers the marketing website at businesshrm.com, including its blog, guides and location pages.
It does not cover the BusinessHRM application at app.businesshrm.com, the Team Tracker desktop app for Windows or the BusinessHRM Android app. Those are separate products. If you run into an accessibility problem in any of them, please still tell us using the details below and we will pass it to the right team.
What we do on this site
- Structure. Pages use real headings, lists, landmarks and tables, so screen readers can navigate by section.
- Keyboard access. Links, buttons, menus, tabs and accordions can be reached and used with a keyboard. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing on every page, and focus is always visible.
- Search from the keyboard. Press
/orCtrl+K(Cmd+Kon a Mac) to open site search, use the arrow keys to move through results andEscto close it. - Text alternatives. Product screenshots and other meaningful images have written descriptions. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Colour and contrast. Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast in both the light and dark themes, and colour is not the only way information is shown.
- Motion. Animations are subtle, and they are switched off automatically when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Light and dark themes. The site follows your system setting, and you can choose light or dark yourself from the header.
- Touch targets. Buttons and links are sized to be easy to tap on a phone.
Accessibility tools on every page
Every page has an accessibility button on the left edge of the screen. It opens a panel where you can:
- Change text size, from normal to large or largest.
- Turn on high contrast, which darkens body text and links.
- Highlight links, so every link is underlined.
- Reduce motion, which stops animations and transitions on the site.
- Use readable spacing, which increases line height and letter spacing and shortens line length.
Your choices are saved in your browser, so they stay in place as you move between pages and when you come back. The Reset button restores the defaults. These tools add to, and do not replace, the settings in your own browser and operating system.
Known limitations
We are still working through some content, and we would rather tell you than leave you to find out:
- Downloadable PDFs, such as the Team Tracker employee guide, may not be fully tagged for screen readers. The same guidance is available as a web page on our blog, and we can send it in another format on request.
- Third-party content, such as the Google Play badge and services embedded from other companies, may not meet the same standard.
- Older blog posts are being reviewed, and some charts or images in them may have shorter descriptions than we would like.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please email [email protected] with “Accessibility” in the subject line. It helps if you include:
- the address of the page,
- what you were trying to do,
- the browser, device and any assistive technology you were using.
A person reads every report. We will reply, tell you what we plan to do, and where we can, get you the information you need in another way in the meantime.
Changes to this statement
We review this statement when we make significant changes to the site. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
